Excerpt from Le Reddit :
I know what you're all thinking, "Lmao just another Dog0fwaRR troll post oh golly he's so fucking funny".
Sorry to break it to yah, this one's for real.
Let me break it down for you, for those of you who don't know, a "Coward Agreement" is basically an understanding between two or more risk averse Nerdkings that usually states ;
"Hey we won't hit any of your assets if you don't hit any of ours, and if someone touches your stuff we'll blob up and #NoFun them all the way back home"
Such an agreement is an example of risk averse behavior, and is quite literally the cancer rotting this game...
(E.G. …"NC, We're tackled in HED-GP by boonies, the big meanie BL is going to come and helicopter dick us, please bring your dank super blob and rescue us from their evil clutches" - Pandemic Fleegion) Which brings me to my first point...
If you remove standings you take away the ability of risk averse fuckboys to easily manage & maintain their friendships with other groups in their local area, and moreover, make it massively more difficult to maintain large coalitions forcing a much more tedious method of diplomacy, which would likely require never ending spreadsheets and constant direct contact to prevent/manage any dissentent actions from member groups.
I.E. - The lack of a constant reminder of ones standing with another group would likely serve to encourage individual and unique identities among corporations, allowing discontent to take hold making falling outs and Bloc breakups much more likely.
Now, with that being said, you and me both know that's not enough.
So in summary, people who want to be disgustingly risk averse can still do that, they're just going to have to work 10x harder to maintain it.
Why? Well, because at the end of the day whether CCP like it or not, this is very much a game that is driven by money... and I don't mean ingame ISK. I'm talking about the USD, the Yankee Dollah, the cheddah Y'all...
These people aren't going to want to give up their 60k a year they make sitting behind a Jabber client making the occasional motivational speech. Oh no, you're going to have to rip it from their greedy little hands... in other words, you're going to have to make that RMT empire impossible to maintain.
You're probably thinking, "Dog, how the fuck are we going to manage that?"
Well, it's going to require a lot of changes, some of which will likely be fairly unpopular but in the long run will allow money to be removed from the equation, which in turn will allow for conflict that otherwise wouldn't happen because it might force some fuckhead to get up from his desk and get a real job... ( Heaven Forbid )
The first of which being...
THE REMOVAL OF ALLIANCES ( DUNN DUNN DUNNNNNNNNNNN )
If we're being honest, alliances are just another form of coward agreement. You're throwing all these smaller groups under a single name, minimizing risk and maximizing your #DankBlob.
I know what you're thinking, "Dog, these groups already formed an alliance with each other, you've gotta like someone to do that. They'll just maintain friendly ties once their alliance is disbanded"
But you couldn't be more wrong, any CEO or alliance leadership guy will tell you that there are some fuckheads in their alliance they'd rather not be around.
My alliance being the perfect example, ( Fuckboy Legion ) most of despise each other, at least on some level. Not only do alliances encourage risk averse behavior, they also facilitate these evil RMT Empires. They make the otherwise difficult tasks of managing scores of assets light years apart and monopolizing sectors of industry quite simple and streamlined.
(You're also going to need a cap on the number of corp members... like 250-500 characters ~ )
I could go on for hours on this subject so I'm going to cut it off here.
The benefits of removing such mechanics are numerous ( and obvious ), primarily though it'll increase the number of conflict drivers exponentially, both in the PVP and PVE sectors.
That means : More Fights, More Content, More Competition between industrialists and an OVERALL BETTER GAME.
Which at the end of the day is what we all want right? Right.
That's my two cents guys...
LET THE DOWNVOTES BEGIN!
( Sorry for the wall of Text )
There you go Zulu, you've been included in my autism.
